Do not be fooled! For rarely does this man have an almost clean shaven look and even rarer is his smile!

Venkat Ganesh Gudipaty aka ‘Ganesh’/'Ganya’ and over the last few years ‘Venky’ is a 28 year old who’s lived all his life in Mumbai which he likes to believe as the best city in the whole wide world.

Most of the people would describe his looks with adjectives like ‘angry young man’, ‘depressed/frustrated’, ‘Devdas’. In fact a certain person who is one his best friends today even maintains that ‘During the initial few time I met him, I felt like meeting the guy who lent me huge amount of money but that I never cared to return and was still shameless enough to hang out with him’. In spite of this Venky likes to be think of himself as a this gentle, nice, well mannered guy whose greatest regret in life has been that he’s never got into a fight -verbal or otherwise - with anyone. That is, if you keep aside the tantrums that he threw on the cricket field as a young boy when he felt the opposite team was not playing fair. Tantrums that were humiliatingly put down by his own team :( . That however failed to dampen his spirits and even today he plays cricket with great passion and aggressiveness and believes that Sourav’Dada’ Ganguly is the best thing to have happened to Indian cricket after ‘Sachin is God’ Tendulkar.

Other than cricket, his other interests are books, where in he believes in every word spoken by Don Corleone, admires every character in Shantaram and is hopelessly in love with an ‘Insufferable know it all’. He has times innumerable laid his hands on Lord of the Rings trilogy but has failed to travel beyond The Inn of Prancing Pony.

He plans to change that stigma attached to his travels - with LOTR as well as real world  - by going far and beyond. Quitting his nice and comfortable job in December 2011 and  starting January 2012, he will be on the road with his motorbike (Another interest? motorbikes and all the associated technological shebang is not, but travelling on one with wind hitting the face is a definite high! ) Honda Unicorn 2007 (which has been christened as ‘Beauty in Red’) for ‘even God does not know how long’ .  India Backpack Motorbike is his attempt at sharing his travels without a plan to unknown destinations,  having misadventures where none exist, making feeble attempts at soaking himself in the local culture  and in general trying to unlearn , learn and relearn!

He would love to hear what you’ve got to say. Leave  a message here
