I have been wanting to participate in some blogging contest.  It does not matter whether I win or not. What matters is that this is a fantastic way to meet other bloggers and at the same time your blog gets noticed as well. Therefore when I heard about Capture the Colour contest by Travel Supermarket I was very eager to participate showcase my travel photos that captures the colours - Green, Blue, Red, Yellow and White

And the prizes are fantastic - A grand prize of £2,000 and winners in each of the colours get a 3rd Gen IPad  selected by a judging panel of travel bloggers:  Dan of Canvas of Light, Abi of Inside the Travel Lab, Dave and Deb of The Planet D, Christine of Almost Fearless, and Ken Kaminesky .

Now when I set out to choose pictures from the colours I did not have to go far back. I just got all the colours in one trip itself. My trek to Sar Pass. And that is the thing about this beautiful country called India. Cliched as it may sound India is colourful indeed. And these pictures from one trip itself prove that.

Here are my pictures

RED

Here is a picture that I clicked of one of my friends while trekking the Sar Pass. Finding animal skulls/skeletons was a common occurence along the trek route and my friend could not help but put up a fantastic pose like this

 WHITE

This is the picture of the final climb to Sar Pass at and elevation of 13800 ft ASL. As one climbs this final ascent one is just turns breathless - both by the steep climb and the fantastic views

YELLOW

After descending the the Sar Pass one enters a valley of wild flowers that bloom here there along the little streams that are formed by the melting of snow.

GREEN

The campsites on this 11 day trek are set among some of the greenest pastures that you will ever come across giving views of pine forests along the  snow capped mountains

BLUE

I had always seen sunrise with hues of orange and red, but at one of the campsite the sunrise was in a shade of blue. I knew I had to capture this scene.

So that’s about my photos and now’s the time for me to nominate some fellow bloggers. So here goes my list

  1. Puru from Shadows Galore
  2. Nisha from Le Monde - A Poetic Travel
  3. Shivya from The Shooting Star
  4. Parm from Desi Globetrotter
  5. Deepak from Mumbai Daily

And the beauty of the contest is you can still enter even if you are not nominated. All you need to publish your post and
